Grounds and Nursery I at CCCS

Responsibilities Expedite and ensure quality standards for cleaning, maintenance and beautification of campus facilities and grounds. Inspect and maintain facility equipment. Mow, rake and irrigate lawns; plant, transplant, spray and trim flowers, shrubs and small trees; apply pesticides and fertilizers for pest, weed and disease control. Determine appropriate timing to cut and edge grass, trim bushes and trees, fertilize grass, trees and shrubs. Assist in the repair and maintenance of sprinkler system, including digging ditches and trenches. Perform minor maintenance on equipment. Remove ice and snow from sidewalks, parking lot and grounds using small hand tools, shovels and small bladed vehicles. Operate manual tools and equipment: tractors, plows, lifts, mowers, trimmers, edgers, and other grounds care equipment. Move furniture and perform other duties as assigned. Work with co‑workers, employees and the general public to accomplish daily tasks. Use computer to complete work orders, timesheets and leave requests. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Qualifications One (1) year of grounds care/landscaping experience as the primary function of your job. Valid Colorado driver's license to independently drive company vehicles and equipment. Must pass a pre‑employment background check, including a motor‑vehicle report. Physical ability to exert up to 100 lbs occasionally, up to 50 lbs frequently, or up to 20 lbs constantly; able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull and reach. Work Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., with flexibility for snow removal and adverse weather. Must be a resident of the State of Colorado at the time of application.
