Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department, including triage, treatment, and discharge procedures for patients from newborns to geriatric populations. Ensures timely assessment, intervention, and patient education to promote optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate triage assessments and communicate abnormal findings to emergency physicians promptly.
• Review, complete, and document patient orders efficiently.
• Educate patients on medication side effects and incorporate discharge instructions thoroughly.
• Recognize signs of cardiac or respiratory distress and implement appropriate interventions.
• Execute routine nursing skills such as medication administration, IV therapy, and equipment management.
• Respond effectively during critical incidents like Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Activations.

Qualifications:

• Possess an active RN license in the state of practice.
• Hold at least two years of recent experience in emergency nursing.
• Maintain current BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
• Demonstrate proficiency in ECG interpretation and emergency interventions.
• Exhibit strong clinical assessment skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system preferred.
