Internship Program ExpectationsAll interns are expected to:Contribute to a collaborative, cross-department intern project or event.Attend Hello Neighbor all-staff meetings, key organizational events, and regular intern meetings.Deliver a final presentation highlighting their experience and contributions at the conclusion of the internship.Core Internship RequirementsDuration: Varies by internship. Time Commitment: 812 hours per week during the internship period.Location: This is primarily an in-person opportunity. Interns are expected to work from Hello Neighbor's office at 6587 Hamilton Avenue between Tuesday and Thursday, depending on the role, organizational needs, and the intern's location.Compensation: Interns are paid $12.50 per hour and may have the opportunity to earn academic credit through their educational institution, if applicable.1. National Network Internship Duration : Fall 2026-Spring 2027 (Anticipated start date: Sept 15th 2026 end date: April 30th 2027)The National Network Intern will play a valuable role in supporting the growth and coordination of the Hello Neighbor Network - a national coalition of grassroots, community-based nonprofits that serve refugee and immigrant communities. The Network brings together like-minded leaders from small- to mid-sized organizations to share best practices, strengthen their leadership, and scale their impact.The Network team also leads Hello Neighbors volunteer engagement efforts, helping connect community members with meaningful opportunities to support refugees and immigrants locally.This internship is ideal for someone passionate about nonprofit leadership, volunteer engagement, social impact, and refugee and immigrant inclusion. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting national programs, grantmaking, peer learning initiatives, and volunteer engagement while contributing to meaningful change at both the national and community levels.Reports to: National Network Program ManagerKey Responsibilities:The intern will support the day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives of the Hello Neighbor Network, with a primary focus on national program implementation, volunteer engagement, evaluation, and administrative support. Responsibilities include:COMPACT Cohort Implementation: Support the coordination and implementation of the COMPACT Cohort, a 30-month national pilot program designed to expand volunteerism and foster intergroup connection by embedding full-time Volunteer Coordinators within local organizations.Assist with managing timelines, tracking deliverables, and maintaining regular communication with participating partner organizations.Provide logistical and administrative support for cohort activities, convening, peer-learning opportunities, and ongoing program operations.Volunteer Engagement Support:Work closely with the National Network Manager and Volunteer Coordinator to support Hello Neighbors volunteer engagement efforts.Assist with volunteer recruitment, onboarding, communication, engagement, recognition, and retention.Support the development of volunteer communications, outreach materials, training resources, and program updates.Help maintain accurate volunteer records, including assignments, hours, training, and required documentation, in Salesforce and other internal systems.Evaluation and Impact Tracking: Work closely with the National Network Manager to support data collection and evaluation efforts, including baseline and follow-up surveys and participatory evaluation activities.Assist with organizing evaluation materials, tracking responses, and maintaining documentation related to program impact and learning.Support efforts to understand and communicate the impact of Network programs and volunteer engagement.Programmatic & Administrative Support:Support internal and external communications, including drafting content for newsletters, volunteer communications, and other program updates.Help maintain accurate records in Salesforce and other internal tracking systems.Provide general administrative and program support as needed to ensure smooth operations across the Network and its volunteer engagement work.Ideal Qualifications and Attributes:Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, professional, and engaging content.Ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively with staff, volunteers, and partner organizations.Comfortable working in culturally diverse environments, with sensitivity to different backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences.Receptive to feedback, with a growth mindset and an eagerness to develop professionally.Organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and creative with a proactive attitude.Interest in or lived experience related to migration, immigration, volunteer engagement, community development, or nonprofit work.2. The Arrival & Integration Intern will work with the Arrival & Integration Case Manager to provide services to newly arrived refugees or program enrollees that require specific case management assistance. Responsibilities include housing setups, community resource connection, database management, and relaying valuable information to clients. This role offers meaningful hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a positive impact. Requirements include strong communication skills, the ability to navigate cross-cultural sex/gender norms in an intentionally empathetic manner, willingness to work with interpretation.Reports to: Arrival & Integration ManagerHere are some tasks you may be assigned: Housing Setups, including organizing and transporting household goods, some furniture setup, ordering needed items Entering/updating information across multiple databases as well as file management Transferring utilities and CAP enrollment Communicating with clients utilizing interpretation Resource research and development3. This role provides hands-on experience in content creation, social media management, and event support, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to Hello Neighbors mission while building professional skills in nonprofit marketing.As a Marketing Intern, you will assist with the development and distribution of marketing materials, support social media and digital campaigns, and help coordinate logistics for events and campaigns that engage our community and donors.Reports To: Marketing and Communications ManagerKey Responsibilities:Content & Marketing SupportAssist with drafting, scheduling, and posting content for social media platforms.Support the creation and distribution of email newsletters and other digital communications.Help maintain marketing materials inventory, including ordering and picking up materials as needed.Assist with updating and organizing digital content libraries, including photos and videos.Event SupportProvide support for community gatherings, donor events, and fundraising galas.Assist with event logistics, including setup, registration, and materials preparation.Help manage communications related to events, including RSVPs and follow-up.Collaboration & Administrative TasksWork with internal teams and contractors to complete projects on time.Respond to basic content and communication requests across departments.Participate in meetings, take notes, and support administrative tasks as needed.Preferred Qualifications:Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.Basic familiarity with social media platforms and content scheduling tools (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp, Hootsuite).Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.Positive, proactive attitude with strong interpersonal skills.About You:You are an enthusiastic learner who enjoys supporting a team and contributing to meaningful work. Responsibilities include pregnancy appointment accompaniment, WIC training, resource identification, advocacy, and perinatal education with a cultural lens.This role offers meaningful hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a positive impact. Reports To: Perinatal Case ManagerRequirements:include strong communication skills, having comfort in birthing spaces, and the ability to navigate cross-cultural sex/gender norms in an intentionally empathetic manner. Personal vehicles are helpful but publictransportation access, at minimum, is required. Working alongside program staff, the intern will help with activities, connect clients with community resources, and communicate with families. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, culturally responsive, and passionate about fostering welcoming and inclusive communities.Some tasks that may be assigned include:Communicating with clients through email, phone calls, and text messages.Collecting and organizing program data.Developing and editing program materials.Assisting with the planning and coordination of community events and activities.Organizing and sorting physical and digital program materials and supplies.6. Employment InternshipDuration : Fall 2026 only (Anticipated start date: Sept 15th 2026 end date:Dec 15th 2026) with the possibility of an extension pending confirmation of additional funding. This internship participates in our Employment programs through administrativeand programming support, as well as through some direct client services (dependent onexperience).
