Registered Nurse – Oncology

Registered Nurse – Oncology assignment for a 13-week contract working day shift 3x12-hour schedules with 36 guaranteed hours per week. This role is based on a 12-bed oncology unit caring for patients requiring inpatient chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, electrolyte replacement, and oncology-focused medical care. The RN will provide comprehensive patient-centered nursing care while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary oncology teams in an acute care environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1-2 years of oncology nursing experience required
• Active BLS certification required
• Active ACLS certification required
• OCN certification preferred
• ONS certification preferred
• Experience with inpatient chemotherapy and oncology patient care preferred
• Experience administering blood products and electrolyte replacements preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills required

The Oncology RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, and supportive treatments. Responsibilities include medication administration, central line care, patient monitoring, symptom management, patient and family education, and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. The RN will collaborate with physicians, oncology specialists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure safe treatment delivery. Additional duties include monitoring for adverse reactions, maintaining infection control standards, and supporting patients throughout the oncology treatment process.
