Disability Services Specialist Supervisor Lead a strong team of Waiver Services Specialists to ensure accurate, timely, and person‑centered waiver services for individuals across Nebraska who are aging or have physical disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, or intellectual/developmental disabilities. Job Description Summary Do you have experience leading, monitoring, or supervising a team, as well as experience with Medicaid, HCBS waivers, or human services leadership? We’re looking for a Waiver Services Specialist Supervisor who will drive quality, compliance, and continuous improvement in the Waiver Services program. Responsibilities Supervise and support a team of Waiver Services Specialists who determine eligibility and funding for a variety of HCBS Waivers (AD, TBI, CDD, DDAD, FSW). Provide training, technical assistance, and performance feedback to ensure high‑quality service delivery and continuous professional growth. Develop and implement internal procedures, monitor compliance, and ensure consistency in waiver operations and eligibility determinations. Serve as a liaison between DHHS, Medicaid providers, families, and stakeholders to resolve concerns and ensure timely, effective services. Analyze medical documentation, evaluate level of care, authorize Medicaid payments, and guide staff through appeals and dispute resolution processes. Track data, create training tools, and support continuous improvement in program evaluation and service quality. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and professional experience in education, psychology, social work, sociology, human services, or a related field; experience within a specialized developmental disabilities service system in the delivery of habilitation and/or case‑management services; proven leadership or supervisory experience. Familiarity with Nebraska’s Aged & Disabled or DD service systems, statutes, and waiver processes. Experience supervising in a health or human services setting. Knowledge of Medicaid Home and Community‑Based Services (HCBS) Waivers. Experience with Therap, NFocus, and Microsoft Office programs.
