Travel Consultant, Long Beach State University

Role Travel Consultant responsible for managing travel arrangements for campus, faculty, and staff at California State University Long Beach. The position is remote. Responsibilities Book domestic and international reservations for air, car, and hotel using the Sabre GDS. Maintain professional client relations by promptly responding to telephone and email communications. Protect the University’s data and comply with PCI standards. Promote the University's travel program policies, negotiated contracts, and preferred vendors. Apply discount programs appropriately. Use airline terminology, codes, fare basis, rules and tariffs, resource guides, books, and industry contacts. Stay informed of airline rules and regulations as well as current affairs and grant travel guidelines including the Fly America Act. Achieve individual and contractual service level goals related to productivity. Work under ticketing deadlines and maintain punctuality. Qualifications 4+ years travel consultant experience using the Sabre GDS, including group and international travel. Knowledge of general office PC-based programs, including Microsoft Office Suite. Strong judgment and decision‑making skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work professionally and independently in a home office while being part of a larger team.
