CustodianThis is a continuous recruitment, and first review will occur on the first Wednesday of every month afterwards.Salary Range: $17.79 – $20.38 HourlyDepartment / Division: Financial Services / Custodial ServicesJob Type: Full-Time Regular OR Part-Time RegularThis position is classified as safety sensitive.Schedule: Selected candidate may be placed on either shift.AM Shift: 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., may include weekendsPM Shift: 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.Monday – FridayJob Number: RC#901838DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to perform a full range of custodial duties related to the care, cleaning, and minor maintenance of assigned buildings and facilities.Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Clean, sanitize and deodorize jail cells and restroom facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals and toilets; clean and sanitize showers as assigned; maintain fixtures and replenish supplies in restrooms.Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors using a variety of chemicals, cleansers and equipment; vacuum and shampoo carpets and upholstered furniture.Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment; wash windows, mirrors, walls and ceilings.Empty, clean and sanitize ashtrays and waste receptaclesMinimum QualificationsWork Experience: Some experience in cleaning and maintaining building interiors is desirable.Education: Requires formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.Certifications, Licenses, and/or Additional Requirement: A valid driver's license is preferred Must pass a police background examinationAdditional RequirementsApplicants considered for this job classification must pass the following:Criminal history background investigationPost offer/pre-employment drug screen.
