Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Architectural Designer/Draftsperson role located in East Rutherford, NJ. The individual in this role will support the development of architectural concepts, prepare detailed construction drawings, and produce technical documentation for a range of projects. Daily responsibilities include creating plans, sections, and elevations; updating drawings based on design changes and code requirements; and coordinating design information with project leads and external consultants. The role also involves conducting site measurements, assisting with zoning and code research, and preparing presentation materials for client meetings. Collaboration with architects, engineers, and contractors is expected to ensure designs are accurate, buildable, and aligned with project objectives.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Architecture and Architectural Design, including the ability to translate concepts into accurate plans and details.
Candidates should possess skills in Construction Drawings and technical Drawing, with experience producing clear, buildable documentation.
Candidates should possess skills related to Urban Planning, including an understanding of zoning, site planning, and local regulations.
Proficiency in industry-standard design and drafting software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, Datacad, Sketch Up or similar CAD/BIM tools) is beneficial.
Knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction methods, with strong attention to detail and quality control.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site as part of a small, project-focused team. Ideal candidate to have their own vehicle and located within 1 hour of the office.
Applicants to possess an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
Compensation will be hourly pay based on experience.
