The Program Manager for the Center for Calling and Ministry provides operational and intellectual leadership for the Divinity School’s programmatic work under the Lilly Endowment Cultures of Calling grant while also coordinating key activities across the Center’s collaborative impact network. Reporting to the Executive Director, this individual leads the development and implementation of Divinity School initiatives connected to the grant while also overseeing logistics, convenings, and administrative requirements across the network. As a key driver of implementation, the Program Manager leads day‑to‑day grant program operations; develops and organizes program resources; manages grant documentation, financial processes, and reporting; and coordinates closely with network partners and University offices. This role requires initiative, adaptability, and strong organizational skills to ensure Divinity School programs advance effectively and the Center’s network‑wide activities run smoothly. This position is tied to grant funding and is not guaranteed to continue past the ending of the grant. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the Divinity School’s programmatic activities under the grant to research, test, and create resources for “Strengthening Congregational Cultures of Calling,” including program design, schedules, resources, evaluation, and participant engagement. Design and lead the Divinity School’s theological and formational initiatives related to spiritual calling and vocational discernment, requiring theological training and independent professional judgment. Develop and distribute program resources in print, digital, and multimedia formats. Provide leadership in developing the Center’s webpage and creating digital content. Coordinate operational activities and communication across the Center’s impact network. Oversee event planning and execution, including scheduling, hospitality, travel arrangements, room reservations, and technology needs. Oversee and manage the program budget. Oversee administrative and financial documentation, including reimbursements, purchase requests, contracts, and other required approvals. Liase with University offices, including OSRP, Procurement, Accounting, General Counsel, and Communications, to ensure operational compliance with grant-related processes. Contribute analysis and synthesis to grant documentation and reporting. Represent the Center at meetings and events as assigned. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. This position is eligible for partial remote work. The Program Manager and the Executive Director will negotiate a Remote Work Addendum that provides specific details of the remote work arrangement. Education/Experience: Graduate theological studies required. Two or more years of experience in program coordination, nonprofit administration, higher education, ministry leadership, or related fields. Experience working with grant-funded programs, cross‑organizational collaborations, or congregational/ministry settings preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated mastery of theological concepts related to calling, vocation, and Christian formation. Ability to design and interpret programs that apply advanced theological understanding. Excellent organizational, project management, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn/utilize new and emerging technology. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), digital communication and social media platforms, and content management systems. Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, university officials, ministry partners and congregational leaders. Work independently as well as function effectively in a team within a diverse group of people. Exercise good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations. Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment. Ability to work occasional evening/weekend hours; occasional travel, including overnight stays.
