Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

The University of Michigan Health - Sparrow is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our new Same Day Access Clinic located in Okemos, Michigan. Job Description: Responsible for providing assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients in assigned Practice(s), under the delegated authority and supervision of the physicians within the scope of medical practice set forth by the State of Michigan and UMHP.

Job Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Current Michigan license as an NP or PA. Certification.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate nursing and medical interventions. Interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, their families, physicians, nurses and other Health System Caregivers. Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in his/her assigned service area as related to the principal duties and responsibilities of the position. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training or experience. Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to work in an EMR environment.

Per Diem Position - 8 hour day shifts. Outpatient only. Patient population 13yrs+. Clinic will see patients with minor acute illness and injury.
