About the Role

Position OverviewPowerus is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to build, operate, and maintain the information technology infrastructure at its Rock Hill manufacturing facility. This role has day-to-day ownership of enterprise IT systems, network infrastructure, physical security technology, audio-visual systems, and coordination with operational technology staff on industrial network segments. The IT Systems Administrator will be the sole dedicated IT presence on-site and is expected to work independently across all facility technology domains.

The person in this role will build and maintain the full technology stack for the facility, from enterprise infrastructure and industrial networks to physical security and audio-visual systems.

• This is not a single-domain administration role. The facility runs production equipment, processes controlled technical data, and operates physical security systems, and all of it depends on infrastructure that this position owns.

• Key Responsibilities- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and certificate services
\n
• Manage Microsoft 365 tenant configuration, user provisioning, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams administration
\n
• Design, deploy, and maintain local network infrastructure, including managed switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and site-to-site VPN
\n
• Implement and enforce network segmentation between enterprise IT, operational technology, and physical security network zones
\n
• Administer IP-based physical security systems, including video management platforms, IP cameras, electronic access control, and badge systems
\n
• Support operational technology network segments carrying PLC, SCADA, and HMI traffic in coordination with manufacturing and controls engineering
\n
• Deploy, configure, and maintain audio-visual and conferencing systems in conference rooms and production-floor areas
\n
• Manage endpoint deployment, imaging, patching, and software distribution for Windows workstations and mobile devices
\n
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for on-premises and cloud systems
\n
• Monitor systems and network health, respond to alerts, and perform root-cause analysis on outages and degraded performance
\n
• Manage IT vendor relationships, service contracts, procurement, and hardware lifecycle
\n
• Maintain documentation for network topology, system configurations, standard operating procedures, and change logs
\n
• Support cybersecurity policy implementation consistent with NIST and CMMC frameworks as applicable
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Qualifications- Must be located in the United States, within commuting distance of Rock Hill, South Carolina
\n
• Three or more years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering
\n
• Experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365
\n
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, routing, switching, firewall rules, and wireless networking
\n
• Experience deploying and maintaining network infrastructure in a physical facility, including structured cabling, rack-and-stack, and equipment commissioning
\n
• Ability to work independently as the sole IT administrator at a site, managing priorities across enterprise, production, and security systems
\n
• U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)); this role involves access to ITAR- and EAR-controlled technical data
\n

Required Skills

• Experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365
\n
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, routing, switching, firewall rules, and wireless networking
\n
• Experience deploying and maintaining network infrastructure in a physical facility, including structured cabling, rack-and-stack, and equipment commissioning

• Ability to work independently as the sole IT administrator at a site, managing priorities across enterprise, production, and security systems

Preferred Skills

\n
• Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting IT infrastructure in a manufacturing, defense, or industrial facility
\n
• Experience administering IP-based video surveillance and electronic access control systems
\n
• Familiarity with operational technology networks, industrial protocols, or SCADA environments
\n
• Experience with network segmentation between IT and OT environments
\n
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, or similar cybersecurity compliance frameworks
\n
• Experience with virtualization platforms and on-premises server hardware
\n
• Active or prior U.S. security clearance
\n
• What We Look ForPowerus is looking for a systems administrator who can own a facility's technology infrastructure end to end without daily supervision. The right candidate has built or maintained networks in a physical environment, is comfortable moving between a server rack and a security panel, and keeps systems documented and recoverable.
