Travel RN Opportunity in Surgical Intensive Care Unit

Must-Have: Experience in ICUs or surgical intensive care units in level 1-2 trauma centers

Description: Strict 75-mile radius restriction. The unit has 20 beds. Patient ratio is typically 2:1, but 1:1 is not uncommon with higher acuity patients. The unit cares for neuro patients experiencing herniation and requires "brain drains". Ortho trauma patients requiring traction are common. Patients with cardiovascular devices such as balloon pumps, Impella, and Eko devices are treated. Post-operative open-heart CABG patients are also managed. Open abdomens from the operating room are frequently re-opened at the bedside. There is an ECMO program planned to start this summer. Looking for travel nurses with experience in ICUs or surgical intensive care units. The patient population includes a significant number of renal patients requiring CRRT managed by RNs at the bedside. Specialized training on the aforementioned devices is essential in addition to generic ICU experience. Medical ICU patients may also be admitted if other units are at capacity.
