Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to design, develop, troubleshoot, and support industrial automation and control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems, Kepware, industrial communication protocols, and machine connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support industrial control systems using Siemens S7/TIA Portal and Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix platforms.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block programming.
• Configure and maintain Kepware (KEPServerEX) for data acquisition, OPC communications, and system integration.
• Develop and troubleshoot HMI/SCADA applications using WinCC, FactoryTalk View, and Ignition.
• Integrate shop-floor equipment with MES, ERP, SCADA, and IT/OT systems.
• Work with industrial communication protocols including OPC UA/DA, MQTT, Modbus, Profinet, and EtherNet/IP.
• Troubleshoot controls issues on production equipment to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Support machine connectivity projects involving CNCs, CMMs, test equipment, and legacy manufacturing systems.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and IT teams to deliver dashboards, alerts, reports, and scalable automation solutions.
• Document system architecture, tag hierarchies, data mapping, and change-management procedures.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve production-critical control systems.
• Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs, including S7-1200/1500, TIA Portal, and WinCC.
• Strong experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation, including Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000, ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and FactoryTalk View SE/ME.
• Experience configuring Kepware (KEPServerEX), including drivers and OPC communications.
• Strong knowledge of OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, and EtherNet/IP.
• Experience integrating controls systems with MES, ERP, cloud, or IoT platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Experience with CNC and inspection equipment is preferred.
• Familiarity with Omron PLCs and automation platforms, including Sysmac Studio and NJ/NX series, is a plus.
• Familiarity with Heidenhain controls, TNC programming, and machine-tool integration is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting complex manufacturing or automated production environments.
• Experience with Siemens, Rockwell, and Omron automation platforms.
• Experience with machine connectivity, industrial data integration, and OT/IT systems.
• Experience with CNC and inspection equipment integration.
