Job Summary:
Lactation and Postpartum Nurse (RN) Day Rotation, located in a dedicated Labor & Delivery department. This role involves providing comprehensive care to mothers and newborns in a 25-bed unit, with responsibilities that include assisting during labor, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. The position requires flexibility to rotate between day, evening, and night shifts, including EOW (every other week) and call duties.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotate between 7:00am to 7:30pm, 11:00am to 11:30pm, and 7:00pm to 7:30am with EOW.
• Required Qualifications: Current Massachusetts RN License, BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) certification every two years for Labor & Delivery.
• Preferred Qualifications: AHA (American Heart Association) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification is preferred.
• Clinical Responsibilities: Provide labor support, postpartum care, newborn assessments, and circulate for surgical procedures. Manage patient ratios of 1:2-3 evaluations and 1:1 active labor patients; Magnesium sulfate infusion and epidural management.
• Unit Details: 25-bed unit with specialized rooms including 5 Labor & Delivery rooms, 12 postpartum beds, 2 operating rooms, 2 recovery rooms, and 2 antepartum nursing units, with an average daily census of 15-25 mothers and babies.
• EMR System: EPIC.
• Float: No.
• Rotating Shifts: Primarily day position with rotation to evening and night shifts as needed, no straight day schedule offered.
• Certifications Required: Current Massachusetts RN License, BLS, NRP, EFM.
• Additional Information: AHA ACLS certification is preferred.
