Serving as the first point of contact, this role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth clinic operations, clear communication, and a positive patient experience.The Patient Care Coordinator works closely with clinicians and care teams to support scheduling, registration, documentation, and day-to-day clinic flow. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, service-driven, and energized by supporting both people and processes in a fast-paced healthcare environment.What You'll Do:Serve as the primary front desk point of contact, creating a welcoming and professional experience for patients and familiesManage check-in, registration, and scheduling workflows, ensuring accuracy and efficiencyCollect, verify, and maintain patient demographic and insurance information in the EMRHandle administrative tasks including phone calls, documentation, scheduling requests, and visit preparationCollect patient payments, process transactions accurately, and answer basic billing and payment-related questions.Communicate and collaborate with clinicians and clinic staff to support smooth clinic operationsSupport patient outreach and follow-up related to scheduling and care coordination needsMaintain a clean, organized front-office environment and assist with opening and closing routinesProvide cross-coverage support, assist with training, and contribute to process improvements as neededFor PCCs with the clinical qualifications, there is the opportunity to flex up and support the back office as neededWhat You Need:High school diploma or GED required; additional education or equivalent experience is a plus1+ year of experience in an administrative, front desk, customer service, or patient-facing roleComfort using computer systems and scheduling platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, EMR or similar systems)Healthcare experience preferredStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detailClear, professional, and empathetic communication skills — both written and verbalAbility to remain calm, flexible, and collaborative in a fast-paced environmentExperience working with children and families is highly valuedA proactive mindset with a commitment to accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvementCompensation & Schedule:Clinic hours and shifts vary between the following windows:North Alabama Clinics: Huntsville & Madison: Monday-Friday 12pm to 8pm; Saturday & Sunday 8am to 6pmCentral Alabama Clinics: Hoover & Tuscaloosa: Monday-Friday 12pm to 8pm; Saturday & Sunday 8am to 6pm; Trussville: Monday-Friday 10am to 6pm; Saturday & Sunday 8am to 6pmSouth Alabama Clinics: Daphne: Monday-Friday 12pm to 8pm; Saturday & Sunday 8am to 6pm; Mobile: Monday-Friday 10am to 6pm; Saturday & Sunday 8am to 6pmHourly pay rate based on years of experienceEvening premium pay applies to all shifts beginning at or after 6:00 PMWeekend Premium Pay: Eligible for weekend premium pay on all weekend shifts worked.Weekend Requirement: Full-time clinicians are expected to work a minimum of four weekend shifts per month.Holiday Requirement: Required to participate in holiday coverage, including: One enterprise-designated winter holiday; One enterprise-designated summer holiday; One designated high-impact holidayHoliday Premium Pay: All qualifying holiday shifts are eligible for applicable premium pay.PRN-specific expectations: Maintain a minimum availability of three shifts per month; Work at least one weekend shift per month; Work at least one enterprise-designated winter holiday and one designated high-impact day during the applicable period; Qualifying holiday and impact-day shifts are eligible for premium pay; Maintain a high level of engagement with the organization between scheduled shifts; Regularly review company emails, communications, and operational updates to remain informed and connected to the team.What We Offer:A collaborative, mission-driven workplace focused on kindness, equity, and service excellenceOpportunities to grow within an organization that values internal development and career progressionSupportive leadership and strong cross-functional collaborationCompetitive compensation including shift differential and premium pay opportunitiesA role where your organizational skills and people-first approach directly impact patient experience and clinic successWhy Work at UC4C?A positive, inclusive workplace cultureCompetitive compensation packagesFull benefits including health, dental, and visionOpportunities for professional growth and developmentThe chance to make a real impact in the lives of children and familiesIf you do not see a current opening that matches your skillset, we still want to hear from you.
