Position Objective: The person in this role is responsible for providing support to the teachers, parents/guardians, and students with a specific responsibility and focus on the communication needs of students. The primary role within this position is to service students on the assigned caseload, be an active participant in our Building Based Support Teams, and provide creative and thoughtful recommendations to aid in student success. The FLRSD is seeking a speech and language pathologist assistant who is caring, empathetic, compassionate, and committed to each student's success, while also demonstrating a proficient understanding of compliance with the DESE standards. Responsibilities: Assist speech and language pathologist with speech and language and hearing screenings. Provide speech and language therapy following student individualized education plan goals as developed by supervising speech and language pathologist. Document student performance. Complete required progress reports of the students receiving speech and language services. Assist the speech and language pathologist during assessment of students. Assist with preparation of materials and scheduling. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders Massachusetts Licensure in Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) Years of Experience Demonstrated success in designing and delivering speech and language lessons aligned with the goals and objectives in the students’ IEPs Experience differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including English Learners and students with disabilities Knowledge of data-driven instruction and use of assessment to inform therapeutic practices Familiarity with inclusive practices and culturally responsive teaching Proficiency with technology, digital learning tools, and blended learning approaches Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, colleagues, and administrators Commitment to continuous professional growth and reflective practice Ability to foster an engaging, supportive, and respectful learning environment that promotes equity and high expectations for all students Salary & Terms of Employment: In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School Collective Bargaining Agreement. Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding.
