About This Role

During the course of this step the apprentice is furthering his/her proficiency in all training and knowledge of the seven prior steps. The AP8 will be doing journeyman lineman work and learning the line skills of managing a crew, both in the line work itself and the skills that are necessary to fulfill the clerical part of the foreman's responsibilities.

What You'll Do

Before moving to the classification of journeyman lineman he/she must have:

• Can and will act as foreman (under foreman supervision) to demonstrate planning and leadership skills.
• Will have a minimum of 8000 logged hours (four years) in the field of power line distribution and/or transmission.
