Salary: $95,000 - 135,000 per year Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of embedded firmware development experience using C++
- Strong knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) or bare-metal systems
- Experience with microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex-M, AVR, or PIC
- Familiarity with vending machine protocols, including MDB and DEX
- Experience integrating cash and cashless payment systems
- Proficiency with debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Preferred: experience with embedded IoT connectivity, Linux-based embedded systems, cloud integration for telemetry and remote management, low-power design, or embedded cybersecurity practices
- Preferred: experience with vending machine management systems, telemetry, remote monitoring, or predictive maintenance
- Design, develop, test, and maintain C++ embedded firmware for vending machine systems
- Integrate hardware such as bill validators, coin mechanisms, card readers, touchscreens, and IoT modules
- Implement and debug vending-related communication protocols, including MDB, UART, SPI, and I2C
- Work with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to support seamless integration
- Improve system performance, memory use, and power consumption
- Develop and maintain diagnostic tools and wired or over-the-air firmware update mechanisms
- Investigate field issues and identify their root causes
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and payment security requirements, including PCI and EMV where applicable
