Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., including cutting, trimming, polishing, sweeping as necessary. Repair the facility and equipment (plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical) following established procedures. Clean windows and screens as directed. Replace burnt‑out light bulbs (exit light, overhead, fluorescent, room call lights) and clean surroundings. Service heating and cooling units/systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and policies. Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed. Requirements Be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Speak English understandably. Coping with mental and emotional stress of the position. Possess sight/hearing or use prosthetics that enable these senses. Function independently, with flexibility, personal integrity, and effective teamwork. Meet general health requirements, including medical and physical examination. Relate to ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people. Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet, and hauling to a minimum distance of 50 feet; up to 100 pounds with assistance. Frequent carrying, pushing, pulling of tools and equipment. Assist in evacuation of residents during emergencies if necessary.
