Registered Nurse - Med/Surg & Telemetry

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Registered Nurse for our Med/Surg and Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing compassionate care to patients with various diagnoses including dementia, diabetes, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, and more. This role requires a combination of critical thinking skills and efficient medical knowledge, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Manage medical and surgical patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Provide telemetry monitoring and effectively interpret dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and IV fluids as necessary, including insulin and blood products.
• Perform central line blood draws and manage peripheral line care.
• Assist with pre/post hemodialysis management and colostomy care.
• Utilize Rapid Response Teams when necessary and ensure adherence to isolation precautions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience.
• Telemetry experience preferred; must accept first-time travelers.
• Valid BCLS certification is required.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
• NC or Compact license must be active and valid.

Common diagnoses include dementia, diabetes, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, GI bleed, and hip fracture.
