Role Description The Purchase Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Hickory, NC. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activities, including preparing and processing purchase orders, reviewing requisitions, and ensuring timely procurement of materials and supplies for various divisions. The role includes sourcing and evaluating vendors, negotiating pricing and terms, tracking order status, and resolving delivery or invoice discrepancies. The Purchase Specialist will monitor inventory levels, analyze purchasing data to optimize costs, and collaborate closely with operations, accounting, and warehouse teams to maintain accurate records and consistent supply. The role also involves maintaining compliance with company purchasing policies and contributing to continuous improvement of purchasing processes. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong purchasing and purchase management skills, including Purchasing, Purchase Management, and Purchasing Processes. Candidates should be proficient in managing purchase documentation, including Purchase Orders and related records. Candidates should have solid Analytical Skills for evaluating pricing, supplier performance, and inventory needs. Experience in procurement or supply chain within manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environments is beneficial. Proficiency with ERP or purchasing software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is preferred. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external suppliers.
