We make custom soap for consumer brands who sell it as their own. Our customers span a wide range of consumer market segments, including: natural, safe, health, body care, hair care, luxury, men’s care, pet care, athletic, aromatherapy, no‑plastic, etc.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Product Director plays a critical role in supporting Botanie's continued growth and operational success. This full‑time position leads all chemistry‑driven and innovation projects, serving as the company's technical authority on product formulation, research, and new product development. In this role, the Director acts as the primary technical liaison for the Sales team and external clients, translating complex formulation data into clear, actionable business insights. The Director leads, manages, and holds accountable a small R&D team.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Possessing deep knowledge of the full suite of Botanie products Conducting regular state‑of‑the‑art industry research Serving as front line liaison to the Sales team and clients on technical formulation details Vetting and allocating all incoming test batches Assessing new potential product opportunities Conducting hands‑on research Leading new product development Managing all chemistry‑driven and innovation projects Conducting process research and supporting process development Maintaining thorough records and structured documentation of department research Manage a small R&D team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Successful candidates must be able to: Demonstrate formulation experience Lead, Manage and hold team accountable Insist on fostering a positive team environment Apply management and leadership experience and skills Posess a chemistry degree or work equivalent Apply project management expertise Engage customers with technical sales experience Preferred candidates will also have these qualifications: High level self‑starter Both independent and collaborative skills Physical requirements: Ability to follow directions and safety procedures Work calmly & efficiently under time constraints. Requires bending, stretching, twisting, stooping, carrying, lifting, kneeling up to 50 lbs Reaching above the shoulder up to 25lbs Bending and lifting occasionally up to 50 pounds Go up and down step ladders safely while carrying raw materials & products. Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels Work at a desk for most of the day.
