Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Freemont Animal Hospital Freemont Animal Hospital is a GP Practice with advanced lab diagnostics, digital radiographs (including dental), dentistry, surgery (including LSS stifle repairs), and ultrasound (AFAST, TFAST, VetBlue). Responsibilities Gather patient histories Perform physical examinations Create treatment plans Conduct diagnostics Provide dentistry services Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures Manage patients medically Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients Externship Details Most externship experiences last from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
