Volunteer Program Coordinator

Responsible for planning, coordinating and managing all volunteer program activities in the organization

Part-Time, 24 hours/weekSalary: Starting $24/hrReports to: Executive Director

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation program.
• Recruits, educates and selects volunteers from at least 3 recruitment sessions per year.
• Establish a need for volunteer services with the patient and family/caregiver and entire hospice team.
• Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Maintains monthly statistics.
• Maintains current personnel files.
• Re-evaluate volunteer program as necessary.
• Coordinate support/education meetings.
• Attends interdisciplinary group meetings.
• Provides information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services.
• Participates as needed in the budget preparation for program development.
• Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
• Accepts and performs other related duties and responsibilities.
• Applies "5 Star" customer service approach in all aspects of job.
• Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
• Actively supports Wingate's commitment to providing "5 Star" service on all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
• Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
• Reports to the appropriate managers any known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations or standards of conduct.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum two years' experience in a healthcare / hospice setting preferred
• Must be able to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services and events
• Works well in a team setting
• Must understand hospice philosophy
• Must be organized and able to develop volunteer hospice personnel to meet patient and organizational needs
• Must be able to manage a group of individuals
• College Degree required or Advanced Degree in Human Services preferred.
