COMMERCIAL PAINT TECHNICIAN

Monday - Friday 

7:00 am - 3:30 pm

$19.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Prepare commercial vehicles and equipment for painting by removing grease, dirt, rust, and existing paint.
• Mix and match paints according to color and coating specifications.
• Apply primers, paint, finish coatings, rust-resistant undercoats, caulk, and sealants.
• Set up and adjust spray guns for proper paint flow and coating thickness.
• Mask surfaces and remove accessories to protect areas not being painted.
• Fill minor dents and scratches; sand surfaces between coats to improve adhesion and finish quality.
• Inspect painted surfaces for flaws and complete necessary touch-ups or corrections.
• Buff and wax finished surfaces as required.
• Disassemble, clean, and maintain spray equipment and related tools.
• Set up ventilation systems, ladders, scaffolding, and other portable equipment.
• Operate lifting or moving equipment to position materials and access work areas.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of commercial or automotive surface preparation and spray-painting techniques.
• Ability to mix paint, match colors, and select the appropriate spray system.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to take initiative.
• Ability to regularly climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 20–50 pounds.
• Ability to distinguish visual details, colors, sounds, and workplace signals.
