12-hour or 24-hour in-house shifts
24/7 OB Hospitalist coverage
No clinic responsibilities

Required Licensure & Certifications

Active Ohio Medical License - Required
IMLC physicians accepted
ABOG or ABOOG Board Certified - Required

Practice Setting

Inpatient OB Hospitalist
No outpatient clinic
In-house coverage only
Level II NICU
Approximately 600 deliveries annually
85% Obstetrics / 15% Gynecology

Clinical Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage all patients presenting to the OB Emergency Department
Admit and manage unassigned obstetric patients
Manage hospital-based obstetric patients
Postpartum, antepartum, gynecology, and inpatient consult rounding
Perform vaginal deliveries and scheduled cesarean sections
Evaluate ED and inpatient gynecologic consults
Coordinate surgical cases with community OB/GYN physicians when indicated

Required Procedures

Vaginal deliveries
Cesarean sections
Vacuum-assisted vaginal deliveries (VAVD)
Labor inductions
TOLAC
Suction D&C
First assist for gynecologic procedures
Circumcisions
Third- and fourth-degree laceration repairs
Management of medical conditions and pregnancy complications across all gestational ages within the OBED and Labor & Delivery

Patient Volume

1-3 deliveries per shift
6-8 OBED patients per shift

Support & Technology

EMR: EPIC
In-house anesthesia coverage
NP/PA available for first assist
Community OB/GYN physicians available for surgical gynecologic cases after initial OBED evaluation
Maternal-Fetal Medicine consultation available by phone
High-risk pregnancies under 32 weeks transferred through an established referral network
