Materials Manager

-As the Manager of Materials your goal is to manage the flow of materials into, through, and out of the facility. You will collaborate with managers and teams throughout the facility to determine inventory and purchasing needs as they relate to production demand and forecasts and mitigate discrepancies and disruptions as they arise.#LI-LB1 #LI-OnsiteYou will do this by:Leading a team to optimize forecast, demand planning and creates supply plans that ensure availability of service parts and productsMonitoring forecasts and demand to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activitiesDefining performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, inventory accuracy, and shipping/receiving complianceAnalyzing inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, manage fill rates, determine estimated time of arrival, reduce waste, or optimize customer serviceManaging production scheduling to meet the sales forecastEnsuring component and product inventory is stored and managed in an appropriate mannerPartnering with Corporate functions to ensure proper roll out and adherence to corporate Supply Chain directives along with maximizing synergies with other Briggs & Stratton entitiesManaging activities related to tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, Kanban, vendor managed inventory, logistics, warehousing, shipping and receivingParticipating in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flowPerforming a full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budgetPerforming other duties as assignedThe above statements are intended only to describe the general nature of the job and should not be construed as an all-inclusive list of position responsibilities.You are the kind of person who has:Excellent organization and record-keeping skills.A Keen eye for discrepancies and disruptions.A problem-solver.-Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.Sseven years of experience in supply chain management.Thorough knowledge of manufacturing, distribution, inventory, and quality procedures and management programs and systemsComprehensive understanding of integrated supply chain management including demand planning, forecasting and procurementExcellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of people inside and outside of the corporationExcellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise judgment and make critical decisionsProficient computer skills including familiarity with enterprise resource planning and business intelligence/analytics systems, Google, and MS Office applicationsFluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or locationPreferred Qualifications:Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is a plus.APICS Certified in Production and Inventory management (CPIM)Six Sigma Black-BeltTravel Required:Travel: 5-10%Briggs & Stratton, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provides innovative products and diverse power solutions to help people get work done.
