Night Shift Nursing Leadership OpportunityThis is a night shift, nursing leadership opening. Advanced resources such as certified trauma care support TMC's role as a regional specialty center.Basic Purpose of the JobAssume shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family, care partner and appropriate others. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal healthcare outcomes. Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Oversees and guides employees that are under his/her supervision. The concepts of patient centered care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrate professionalism and service excellence standards at all times. Follow Model of Care for Nurse vs. Patient ratio (staffing), Complete New Chart Audits for patients, Keep up with Supplies and Ordering of Supplies, Continue Education with staff members, Keep Children's Manager up to date on Unit status, Relieving Staff for lunch and ensure staff is clocking out/In. Attend the 0900 Charge Nurse meeting in ER, Lead Safety Huddle at 1000. One year charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred. Must maintain all clinical competencies for area of supervision.Current RN licensure in the State of Texas, or compact. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting.Must maintain all proficiencies required by area of supervision.National certification in area of supervision preferred (i.e.CCRN, PCCN, etc.)Must be clinically competent in area of population served.Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate team leadership.Must have the ability to problem solve and think critically.
