Aviation Civil Engineer

At AtkinsRéalis, we are seeking an Aviation Civil Engineer to join our Airport Engineering Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Nashville, TN.

Your Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the design of airport pavements, runways, taxiways, and airside/landside infrastructure.
• Performing engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates for airport improvement projects.
• Preparing engineering drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Performing grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility design calculations.
• Supporting preparation of technical reports, specifications, and basis of design reports.
• Conducting site visits and construction inspections to monitor project progress.
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including transportation, structural, electrical, mechanical, architectural, and environmental engineers.
• Ensuring designs comply with FAA regulations, airport design standards, and local requirements and assisting with FAA grant and airport improvement program documentation.

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

• 0-2 years of professional experience in a related technical field.
• Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university.

• Special skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D, stormwater and drainage design, geometric design, construction documentation, communication, and teamwork.
• Professional registration as E.I. or E.I.T. (preferred) or ability to sit and obtain within 6 months.

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $75,000 - $85,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
