Position Overview and Requirements

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

This role involves employing therapeutic communication techniques in daily interactions and ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment. The nurse will identify nursing challenges based on the unique needs of each patient and will create personalized care plans using a collaborative approach. Participation in performance improvement initiatives is also expected, along with providing care that aligns with the hospital's mission and vision.

In the capacity of charge nurse, the Registered Nurse will oversee daily operations to guarantee high-quality patient care in a supportive environment. Responsibilities include making staff assignments based on patient needs, acuity, and staff competencies. The nurse will act as a role model and clinical resource for team members, responding promptly to inquiries or follow-ups regarding patient, physician, or staff matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs while executing physician orders.
• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Document and communicate patient conditions accurately using computerized systems.
• Educate patients and their families as part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse with a degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Current licensure with the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
• Preferred: One year of clinical nursing experience.
