Class B Diesel Mechanic Technician

Position Summary Perform preventative maintenance of medium to heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and converter dollies under minimal supervision. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations, document work orders, and keep repairs and parts usage current. Perform road call services as needed. Primary Responsibilities Complete and perform preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units) and identify root causes of basic failures or conditions. Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed "roadworthy". Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system. Install, replace, and repair onboard computers. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure proper operating condition, replacing parts as necessary. Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery, using hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, precision instruments) and power tools (pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks and hoists). Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years proven experience in medium to heavy‑duty vehicle repair, including PMs, tire & wheel service, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and A/C refrigeration experience.
