Senior Systems Operations Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC or Des Moines, IA. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity.

This is a critical position that supports the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of home lending origination applications. The role involves providing day-to-day support to business users, monitoring systems, performing technical refresh activities, application migration, batch monitoring, and BCP activities for both internal and external applications.

Responsibilities:

• Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure, moderately complex application upgrades, and vulnerability remediation efforts
• Contribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering human intervention time on related tasks
• Act independently as a liaison for the platform team in support of daily inquiries, problem and incident management, change management, project delivery, and escalations
• Liaise with functional or operational managers to understand their current and future information needs and develop plans and schedules for integrating these needs into existing operations
• Recommend solutions to resolve technical issues and achieve the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability by automating platform activities
• Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools
• Collaborate and consult with peers, mid-level managers, vendors, and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues

Requirements:

• 4+ years of systems engineering or technology architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education
• 4+ years of application production support experience
• 4+ years of experience providing monitoring tools support for applications built on JAVA and cloud platforms
• 4+ years of experience with automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• 4+ years of experience with application and infrastructure domains, including Web, Application, Database, and Server technologies
• 4+ year of Autosys experience

Desired Skills:

• 4+ years of Linux & Windows experience
• 4+ years of experience working with RDBMS such as Oracle and No-SQL Database Systems such as Mongo DB
• 3+ years of support experience with Cloud applications like Microsoft Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry or Amazon Web Services
• 3+ years of experience implementing, supporting, or developing tools to integrate with Grafana and App Dynamics
• 3+ years of advanced scripting experience using Unix Shell Scripting, or Windows PowerShell and PL-SQL
• 3+ years of support experience with file transmission services
• 3+ year of Splunk experience
• Awareness/use of AI/ML technology
• Hands-on experience supporting enterprise application platforms in monitoring, scheduling, or observability (e.g., Autosys, Grafana, Splunk, Thousand Eyes, or equivalent)
• Experience in financial services
• Proven ability to triage complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive issues to closure
• Knowledge of technology support for high volume 24x7 mission-critical systems
• Ability to take an active role in the education, mentoring, and training of less experienced team members
• Knowledge of PKI and SSL concepts
• Experience supporting an enterprise-level environment

Pay range: $36.56 - 44.56 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
