Warehouse Material HandlerOur Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for loading/unloading trucks and stocking product all while maintaining safety measures in the warehouse. Keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Checks outbound shipments for accuracy and readiness for customer delivery.Responsibilities:Answer the S&R door for carrier order inquiriesAble to update the driver check-in log as drivers come inMust locate paperwork and physical productAble to match the order packing list with the amount of physical pallets ready to shipMust be able to confidently use the sit-down forklift in order to load trucksMust do periodic walkthroughs to ensure the warehouse is clean, organized and a safe environment.Must be able to operate the scanner and make or verify transactions.Keeps his/her direct manager updated and aware of order progress and alerts them when a problem arises.Promotes quality by demonstrating personal accuracy and thoroughness, while working at a fast paceFollows warehouse rules and procedures when it comes to organization and cleanlinessShows outstanding awareness of safety procedures and works in a clean and organized wayAble to safely pull, load and unload palletized orders and incoming inventoryTakes immediate action to correct or report unsafe actions behaviors or proceduresAble to safely pull, load and unload palletized orders and incoming inventory without damage to the parts, company equipment or third-party equipment.Shipping & Receiving guidelines to ensure shipments are sent 100% accurately and on timeKnowledgeable of the parts, part numbers, systems and its features and functionsAble to use standard equipment as well as ancillary equipment to assist in order completionMust have the knowledge to distribute heavy truck loads correctly making sure that shipments comply with Department of Transportation Weight Limit RulesHas full knowledge of the warehouse location system, part series designated areas and procedures to properly locate, subtract, and move parts from warehouse locationsAble to perform cycle counts to validate inventory quantitiesMust keep all inventory organized and located in order to facilitate cycle counts, inventory counts and to enforce "First in First Out" (FIFO) rulesMust be able to process incoming and release to production paperworkInspects receiving procedures and pertinent paperwork for all shipments receivedReports to Warehouse ManagerAble to use & learn the crown liftResponsible for moving the incoming from production and storing pallets up in the racksDrop down product needed for orders & for productionIdentify, manage & consolidate partial anchor boxesAble to load/unload international containers & manage documentation.Requirements:Must be able to read and write in EnglishMust be able to lift 50lbsMust be able to accurately count and solve simple arithmetic problemsMust be able to work well with others as a teamMust have basic to intermediate to advance computer skillsMust work in an organized and safe mannerAble to work under pressure in a fast-paced goal-oriented environmentMust be detail oriented, organized and sharp with paperwork and other administrative tasksMust be able to understand and follow warehouse proceduresMust have initiative and flexibility to work in different areas of the warehouse performing a variety of tasks, including tasks outside of the shipping and receiving core responsibilitiesMust be able to perform cycle countsMust show the skills to operate the forklift in a safe and proficient wayPerform general housekeepingPhysical stamina and strengthMust be flexible; able to work extended hours and weekends when requiredHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred but not requiredSchedule:Monday - Friday, (May have to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed)1st Shift- 7:00am to 3:30pm2nd Shift- 3:00pm to 11:30pmPhysical Demands:The description below is intended to describe the general content and requirements for the performance of this job but is not limited to:While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Some duties may be removed at any time and new duties may be added as GTI continues to grow.
