Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm in Madera, CA is seeking a motivated and ambitious Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team. This role involves handling a range of criminal matters. While prior experience in criminal law or dependency law is not required, new Bar passers are encouraged to apply. Duties and Responsibilities Represent clients in criminal defense cases, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial matters. Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy. Prepare and file legal documents, such as motions, briefs, and pleadings. Provide legal counsel and advice to clients on criminal charges and potential defenses. Negotiate settlements and plea deals with opposing counsel and prosecutors. Advocate on behalf of clients during court appearances and hearings. Develop case strategies and ensure the effective presentation of evidence. Stay informed about changes in criminal law and legal precedents. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Recent law school graduates and new Bar passers are encouraged to apply. Strong commitment to criminal defense and advocacy. Willingness to learn and develop skills in criminal and dependency law. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
