CATERING OPERATIONS MANAGER - NASHVILLE, TN

Catering Operations Manager – Nashville, TN Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 per year. Job Summary: The Catering Operations Manager is responsible for the successful execution and coordination of on and off‑premise company events. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring effective distribution of information between all departments, clients, and vendors. Key Responsibilities Consult with clients to define scope, expectations, setting, menu, collateral, and entertainment within the client’s budget. Plan menus in consultation with clients and chefs. Negotiate vendor contracts. Delegate to the Event Manager and oversee event execution according to parameters established by the Catering Operations Manager. Recruit, interview, select and train permanent and casual staff. Lead and motivate the catering team. Plan staff and event schedules. Maintain accurate financial and administrative records. Serve as liaison among Sales Catering Managers, Supervising Chefs, Staffing, Captains, Suppliers, Rental Companies and Clients. Assess contract requirements and ensure satisfaction with services delivered. Perform final reviews to determine if events meet quality and performance standards. Resolve customer concerns and ensure timely payments. Preferred Qualifications Operationally savvy industry professional with proven leadership in managing people, events, and guest experience. Strong organization, time‑management and team‑motivation skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective verbal and written communication with clients, senior management and support staff. Adaptability to continuously changing demands. Experience in budgeting, P&L, labor and sales forecasting and reporting. Problem‑solving discretion in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent negotiation skills. Credibility with senior culinary professionals. Human‑resource experience including hiring, training and development. 3–5 years in a hospitality management environment, preferably un‑premise catering. Capacity to manage in a client‑service focused, entrepreneurial environment.
