Afternoon Enrichment Specialist, Middle School

Job Details Job Location: Middle School - San Jose, CA 95124 Position Type: Staff Salary Range: $18.45 - $27.00 Hourly Job Summary The Harker School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Afternoon Enrichment Specialist to join our Middle School Enrichment and Supervision Team for the 2026–2027 academic school year. This is a part‑time position. The anticipated work schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 1:00p.m. to 6:30p.m., with a minimum of 25 hours per week. Hours may vary based on departmental needs. The position begins August 12, 2026, and the successful candidate is expected to work all scheduled school days through the end of the academic year on June 3, 2027. Please note: This position is not eligible for benefits. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age. Have current certification in both first aid and CPR; if not, will attend class(s) provided by Harker. Prior experience working with children is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Create experiences. Build community. Make a difference. Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for students during lunch and after‑school programs. Support staff with design and creative activities that encourage growth, connection, and fun. Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues through strong communication. Serve as a dependable adult role model who leads with energy, professionalism, and school spirit. Support student supervision, dismissal procedures, shuttle coordination, and campus safety. Participate in training and professional development focused on adolescent growth and engagement. Follow safety procedures and maintain accurate documentation and reporting. Physical and emotional ability to respond to situations requiring first aid and emergency situations. Ability to remain standing for extended periods (up to 3 hours at a time). Capable of working in a variety of weather and climate conditions. Physically able to lift, carry, or hold items weighing 10pounds or more. Working Conditions No hazardous or unpleasant working conditions.
