FULL TIME M-F DAYS Registered Nurse

Job Summary Mental Health Resource Center is looking for Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide and oversee quality and compassionate care for patients at our Northside and Southside inpatient psychiatric facilities. The crisis stabilization units provide services for adults and children. Most patients are admitted involuntarily to the facility via the Baker Act, the mental health act of Florida. The normal length of stay on the unit for patients is typically 3‑5 days. Due to the types of services provided, crisis stabilization units are fast‑paced working environments and present employees with challenging and rewarding opportunities. Employees work together and support one another in a friendly, team‑oriented atmosphere. Primary Responsibilities Registered Nurses will perform admissions, discharges, take doctor’s orders, administer medication, and provide routine and emergency medical care and interventions as needed. They will assess the needs and problems of patients, plan the patient’s care in cooperation with the treatment team, monitor and observe patients, and oversee the care provided by the Behavioral Healthcare Assistants. Registered Nurses ensure services are provided in accordance with the Quality Assurance Standards for Behavioral Health Services and Joint Commission standards. Qualifications Valid State of Florida Registered Nurse license and an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Experience in medical‑surgical and/or psychiatric nursing. Sound decision‑making and good judgment, including recognition and response to emergencies and life‑threatening situations. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact appropriately with internal and external customers, families, caregivers, community service providers, supervisory staff, and other department professionals. Commitment to accurate and timely documentation in clinical records.
