About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 16 Shift: 12-hour Night Shift (7-On/7-Off) Hours per Shift: 36 guaranteed hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years recent RN experience in the specialty License: RN License Certifications: Must have American Heart Association BLS ACLS PALS or ENPC TNCC Conscious Sedation Certification (obtained through facility) Description: Our Emergency Department consists of multiple units including Main ED, Fast Track, and Observation Unit. All ED nurses are expected to rotate through each of these areas regularly. In addition, nurses are assigned to Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening. Nurses can expect to be assigned to different areas daily and may be rotated during their shift based on patient volume and needs. Nurses may assist with Covid testing and/or immunization clinics as needed. Shift schedules are primarily for Night Shift from 7 PM to 7 AM with a maximum of one RTO week if needed. Shifts may change during the contract, and nurses may need to cover day shifts as staffing needs fluctuate. Typically, the schedule consists of 7 days on and 7 days off, with variations in hours per week. Travelers are occasionally expected to float to other departments where they are qualified to work. This may include taking a patient load if experienced and competent or conducting task-oriented duties such as answering calls.
