Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years preferred License: Active state or compact license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Travel experience preferred - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience: 1:5-6 Description: Shifts consist of 3 twelve-hour night shifts. The unit consists of 36 private rooms. Patients range from young adults to geriatric individuals. Priority admission is given to patients requiring a medical level of cardiac care and those recovering from cardiac interventions. Cardiac interventions may include cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implantation. The unit also admits hemodynamically stable, non-procedural cardiac patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, and social services. Daily census averages around 36 patients. Patient ratios for day shifts may reach 6 patients per nurse. Skills required include managing IV protocols, telemetry monitoring, and post-cardiac care. Experience with charting systems is necessary, particularly with Epic. Patients may present with a range of cardiac conditions requiring specialized care.
