Sr Mechanical Engineering Supervisor

Overview Sr Mechanical Engineering Supervisor reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the Sr Engineering Supervisor will lead, manage and direct a subgroup of Engineers and Technicians focused on products for specific market segments (Nuclear/Aerospace/Industrial) at Curtiss‑Wright RoundRock. The primary responsibilities include building a high‑performance team, continually improving engineering processes, and delivering high‑quality safety‑related instrumentation into the market on‑time and under‑budget. The role is based in RoundRock, TX and is onsite. Responsibilities Build and lead a high‑performance engineering team, continually improving processes and delivering safety‑related instrumentation on time and under budget. Meet revenue, profit, cash and order goals; execute customer‑funded development projects. Collaborate with other managers to define and streamline engineering processes; identify risks and opportunities, communicate status, and empower the team. Promote a safe work environment and proactively solve cross‑department problems. Provide guidance, support and mentorship; hold team members accountable and embody engineering excellence. Team closely with Project Management to assign engineering resources to projects and customer orders. Understand, execute, manage, and improve engineering processes related to manufacturing, purchasing, product design, and professional services—including analog/digital electrical design, mechanical design, manufacturing automation, materials science, fiber‑optic communications, CAD, quality systems, task estimation, root‑cause analysis, PDM/PLM, ERP, non‑conformances, corrective actions, investigations, and audits. Lead bid opportunities for the domain, produce engineering solutions and effort estimates, and work closely with Sales to develop viable, cost‑effective proposals. Remove impediments, provide training, create a compelling work environment, and align personnel goals with business objectives. Conduct meaningful annual performance reviews and lead by example. Own onboarding, performance management, and career development of the team. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electronics); Master’s degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) certification highly desired; ASME certification preferred. Minimum 8 years of experience designing and manufacturing products. Experience leading and managing teams in a cross‑functional environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD, and data analysis. Six Sigma and Lean certifications preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills; high energy level and problem‑solving ability.
