REGISTERED NURSE, INFUSION-PART TIME-PER DIEM

Responsible for assessing patients daily, preparing and infusing medications via intravenous lines. Certain patients will require intravenous access devices be placed or replaced on site. Responsibilities Assess patients daily Prepare and infuse medications via IV lines Place or replace intravenous access devices as needed Check schedules and organize patient flow Perform screenings per provider guidelines Assist physicians with various procedures, IV catheter placements, phlebotomy, and charting documentation of medication administered and patient care interventions Relate instructions to patients/families Answer calls and provide pertinent information Review lab/xray reports, hospital notes and complete forms/requisitions as needed Manage charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately Respect/promote patient rights Respond appropriately to emergency codes Share problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisors quickly Knowledge & Experience Knowledge of healthcare field and medical specialty Experience in maintenance of PICCs, midlines and dressing changes Knowledge of tasks related to infections and Infectious Diseases Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families Skills Advanced skill in starting peripheral IV lines Skill in preparing, mixing and administering injections Skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families Skill in therapeutic phlebotomy procedure and intravenous line placement Skill with computer software systems, including EMR and email Requirements High School Diploma Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program Current California Registered Nursing License Current BLS and/or ACLS Certification Additional Desired Skills & Experience Bilingual in Spanish, a plus Flexible schedule, including ability to work occasional weekends (2 weekend days per month required) Leadership qualities important for this position #J-18808-Ljbffr
