Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU experience and neonatal oscillating vent proficiency for a night shift travel assignment at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System
• Level II Trauma Center
• Assignment in a Level III NICU with rotation through pediatric units as needed
• Patient population includes neonatal and pediatric patients
• Neonatal oscillating ventilators and high frequency jet ventilators used in this unit
• Draeger ventilator used in this unit
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating between two campuses (Bridgeport and Milford) as needed, with rotation through all hospital units based on census and staffing needs
• Charting via Epic
• Free parking available on-site
• 26-week contract

Requirements

• Active CRT or RRT credential required
• BLS required
• State respiratory therapy license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Level III NICU experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Proficiency with neonatal oscillating ventilators required
• Draeger ventilator experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• 1 reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services in a Level III NICU setting
• May be asked to orient students or new hires as needed
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Flu vaccine required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required; religious and medical exemptions accepted
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; all RTO requests must be finalized at the time of offer acceptance, as additional requests after acceptance will not be approved
