Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in an outpatient surgery setting. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes through expert clinical practices and coordination.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions pre-operatively and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile environments and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and support staff to facilitate smooth operations.
• Document patient care activities accurately within electronic health records systems.
• Respond promptly to intraoperative changes and emergencies to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid RN license for Georgia or a Compact state.
• Hold BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Have at least 2 years of OR nursing experience; 1st-time travelers accepted with proper skills.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems.
• Ability to work within outpatient surgical environments, supporting up to 13 rooms.
• Capable of floating within OR departments and working flexible shifts.
