Job Type: Contract (3 Months extendable)

Pay Rate: $26-$28/hr

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (CST) | 7.5 Hours/Day

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker III to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and general facility upkeep across a large campus environment. This role is responsible for maintaining building systems, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and safe working environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience in general building maintenance or skilled mechanical trades.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint and criminal background check.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Repair doors, windows, drywall, flooring, woodwork, and other building components.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs, including replacing fixtures, repairing leaks, and clearing drains.
• Complete routine electrical maintenance, including replacing switches, outlets, light fixtures, ballasts, and transformers.
• Perform minor HVAC maintenance, including changing filters, belts, and motors.
• Complete basic carpentry, drywall, shelving, and minor roofing repairs.
• Maintain grounds, including mowing, landscaping, fence repairs, and outdoor maintenance.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, tractors, mowers, and other maintenance equipment safely.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and complete work orders using a computerized maintenance system.
• Assist with furniture moves, room setups, inventory management, and special events.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and support on-call or overtime needs when required.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, staff, and internal departments.

Required Skills

• Experience in building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, maintenance manuals, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and maintenance procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift 50–80 lbs and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Universal EPA/HVAC Certification.
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
• Heavy Equipment Operation Certification.
• Electrical or Plumbing Trade License.
• Basic welding experience.
