Technical Designer - Women's

Our client, an apparel company, is looking for a Technical Designer to join their Women's Apparel team in NYC!
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain technical packages, measurement charts, construction specifications, and detailed garment documentation for women's apparel.
- Conduct fit sessions and review samples, providing detailed comments on fit, construction, measurements, and overall garment quality.
- Collaborate with Design, Merchandising, and Product Development teams to translate concepts into production-ready garments that meet design and quality standards.
- Communicate fit corrections, grading requirements, and construction revisions to domestic and overseas vendors throughout the product development process.
- Review and approve development and pre-production samples, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to specifications and seasonal deadlines.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of technical design experience in women's apparel.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, fit, grading, fabrics, and apparel manufacturing.
- Proficiency in creating tech packs, measurement specifications, and detailed fit comments.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel, and PLM systems; familiarity with overseas vendors preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines.
