The Resident Assistant (RA) must reside in Seahawk Landing. This is a non-exempt position that reports to LSCPA's Student Services Department.Duties/ResponsibilitiesServe on an on-call rotation that requires you to be in the residence hall two (2) weekday nights per week and two (2) weekends per monthAttend mandatory trainings and orientations at the beginning of each semesterAttend mandatory monthly meetings with Dean of Student Services and Residence Life CoordinatorConduct weekly walk-throughs and attend called meetings with Residence Life CoordinatorWork 20 hours per week at the front desk as scheduled by supervisorCommunicate and enforce College policies and Residence Life regulations to studentsDocument violations of College police and Residence Life regulationsReport emergencies and life-threatening situations to appropriate authorities and College personnelReport conflicts, incidents, and Title IX incidents violations to appropriate College personnelBe accessible to students with regular staff/student contact and act as a referral agent when appropriateDevelop and present programs to students as required by Resident Life CoordinatorConduct building/floor meetings as needed with the approval of supervisorMediate student conflicts and arrange roommate living agreements when necessaryPromote Seahawk Landing when opportunities arise.Minimum/Preferred QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPAAt least 6 semester credit hours completed at LSCPAHave no other on-campus employment commitmentsBe enrolled at LSCPA during employmentGood academic and student conduct standingMust reside in Seahawk LandingMust be able to fulfill one full year in the position before graduating/transferringSupplemental InformationPhysical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
