About the Opportunity:

The Tool Crib Attendant will be responsible for ordering, storing, issuing, sharpening, and maintaining all tools, fixtures, job boxes, etc. for the machine shop. The candidate will work closely with the shop lead to ensure there are no delays in production.

Location:

Newburyport, MA

On site 5 days per week

Responsibilities:

• Perform all work in a safe manner, using appropriate PPE and following safety guidelines for the assigned task.
• Order, store, issue, sharpen and maintain all tools and fixtures for the machine shop. Maintain the appropriate inventory level of all tools and hardware by ordering as needed and/or working with vendors (MSC).
• Ensure tools and fixtures are kitted and issued to the floor along with setup sheet as requested from floor and/or from Router/OP sheet.
• Identifying, marking and storing new and used tools, fixtures, job boxes, etc needed to run production are stored in inventory database (SBT).
• Sharpen and cutoff tools as needed in house and sending out tools for re-grind as needed.
• Use various measurement instruments, sharpening tools, grinders, and hand tools.
• Safe operation of Equipment.
• Willing to receive training to further skills as well as willingness to partake in Kaizen workshops as required both internally and externally.
• Must keep work area neat and orderly.
• Follow all applicable AS9100 procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing.
• 1+ years of experience in CNC machine setup, tool identification and machine fixtures.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Detail oriented with great organizational skills.
• Excellent Interpersonal skills.
• Able to use precision tools such as micrometers and calipers.

Working Conditions:

• Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to travel between locations or to suppliers up to 25% of time.
