Travel Radiation Therapist

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT certification for a hospital Radiation Oncology department offering advanced treatment modalities.

Job Details

• Work in a hospital Radiation Oncology department,
• Clinic operates from 6:00a-6:00p with shifts varying within those hours,
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week,
• Elekta equipment experience preferred,
• No call or weekend requirements,
• Must be able to work UNC holidays if needed,

Job Requirements

• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy,
• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiation Therapy Technologist program,
• License required if applicable,
• Experience with low and high brachytherapy preferred,
• Familiarity with quality assurance procedures, radiation dosages, equipment settings, and protective equipment,

Additional Information

• Administer radiation therapy in accordance with physician instructions and patient treatment plans,
• Enter data and adjust equipment to regulate radiation dosage,
• Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists in preparing treatment plans,
• Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians,
• Maintain accurate patient and billing records according to department policies,
• Perform routine and complex treatments such as total body irradiation and stereotactic radiosurgery,
• Prepare equipment and treatment rooms for patients,
• Use appropriate protective equipment and procedures to ensure safety,
• Perform quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines,
• Provide clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists
