Maintenance Technician III

Job Summary The Maintenance Technician III is a senior-level technician and subject matter expert within the Maintenance Department. This position is responsible for leading complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and high-level repairs on plant equipment and systems. A Tech III demonstrates advanced technical knowledge across all maintenance disciplines and plays a key role in mentoring Tech I and Tech II staff, driving continuous improvement, and supporting equipment reliability strategies across the facility. This role requires independent decision-making, leadership on projects, and collaboration with both the Maintenance Manager and cross-functional departments. I. Job Summary The Maintenance Technician III is a senior-level technician and subject matter expert within the Maintenance Department. A Tech III demonstrates advanced technical knowledge across all maintenance disciplines and plays a key role in mentoring Tech I and Tech II staff, driving continuous improvement, and supporting equipment reliability strategies across the facility. This role requires independent decision-making, leadership on projects, and collaboration with both the Maintenance Manager and cross-functional departments. II. Essential Job Functions Lead advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems. Serve as a lead technician on critical repair work and major equipment overhauls. Coordinate and execute predictive and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize unplanned downtime. Mentor and provide hands‑on training to Tech I and Tech II team members. Support planning and execution of capital improvement projects and equipment installations. Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve equipment performance and reliability. Perform precision alignment, calibration, and instrumentation tasks. Interpret complex technical documents, wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints. Lead root cause failure analysis and implement long‑term corrective actions. Ensure maintenance activities comply with all safety and environmental standards. Manage CMMS documentation for critical repairs and equipment history tracking. Support spare parts identification and procurement through collaboration with Maintenance Planner or Inventory Coordinator. Recommend and help implement process improvements and standard work instructions. III. Education MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent is required Technical certification, or associate degree in a related field preferred. Experience At least 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience is preferred V.
