Job Title

Registered Nurse – PICU

Location

Madison, WI | Inpatient / Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every Other Weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in an intensive care unit setting
• Monitor and assess patient status, responding promptly to changes in condition including cardiac and hemodynamic events
• Interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms, including identification of lethal arrhythmias, in accordance with unit protocols
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing and patient care requirements
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• BLS and PALS certifications required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
• At least two years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last three years in the submitted specialty
• Must pass a Telemetry exam prior to start (two attempts permitted; strict passing criteria apply for both adult and pediatric rhythm identification)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center or high-acuity pediatric environment
• Familiarity with a wide range of pediatric medical and surgical patient populations
